"Friends...Eat Food!"
Amazing what a good comedic mind can make out of a paper lawn bag. Maybe the problem with today's tv comedy is too much big money...(and the fact they're not doing it live).

early tv took chances not seen again for years
It's fun to watch tv before it was dumbed down for children's viewing. And it's fun to see former radio stars discovering how to utilize the new medium.
This has Edie Adama when she was married to Ernie Kovacs and looked innocently girlish rather than like a sexpot.
The singing talent in this is top notch. I wonder if singing in early live tv was to a recording or was live, or a combination of both with live intro and the rest recorded.

Five songs and comedy filler. The live performance atmosphere makes it feel comfortable. Surprised that the closing expression was used 60 years ago.

Edie Adams Captivating on "Kovacs On The Corner"
A good program from 1952. Edie Adams was terrific! Ernie Kovacs did well with his comedy. The audio was good with the visual less so. This was well worth watching for an early television experience.

Misunderstood and misrepresented
It's a shame Ernie Kovacs is best known today for a quote he never made.
He seemingly hosted many series, some of which were short-lived, and most poorly-preserved. Here we see him being funny on a low budget. I really like the spoof "food" commercial. Edie Adams was hot.
